Communications Major
In 2011, I began using a service called Scoop.It! to curate stories about how the way were communicating with one another was rapidly changing due to digital and social media platforms. I named the project "Communications Major", since that was primarily what I studied in college, having earned an A.A. in Mass Communications and a B.A. in English, with an emphasis on the written word. Neither of those degrees could have predicted how we impart information today, or even 10 or 20 years ago. While this project is typically a fun one, and an excuse to hang out online more than I should, it serves as a valuable (and often amusing) resource of communication trends in the 21st century (so far). I've had many blogs over the course of my online lifetime, but I don't have one now. I once estimated that I had written "more than 1 million words" for pay or pleasure (seldom for both at the same time). Read some samples on Medium.com.
